This is my impressions of the game based on a two day play taking me to level 30
No, No it is not a maple story mesos clone.
I know everyone will hate me for comparing it to maple story, they will tell me how its a different game and it deserves to be looked at for being an individual and then those very same people will go to a 3D game and yell "lol wow clone, not as good as wow, needs to be more like wow".
Anyway lets get to the game shall we. Right off the bat there is a striking resemblance to maple story mesos its uncanny really. The chibi characters the starting outfits just being different colors the 3-4 choices in each section of character creation, and of course the game itself is 2D.
In fact it is so uncanny I almost walked away from my computer screen to sob at the squandered potential, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and trudged on. Its a good thing I did too because the game play is magnificent.
The very first thing I did was run out and start stabbing monsters, I had chosen a knight but had decided to play jokingly and only use knuckles. I was thrilled to have my gears drop before me slowly forming my complete armor set. I had half expected to reach level 50 only to have the level 1 gears drop then as it has been deemed necessary in maple stroy mesos. Now im not sure about the rest of the world who wasn't using knuckles but I found absolutely no reason not to just spam the heavy attack on monsters and leave the normal strike key covered in dust, but a higher level explained to me that it really didn't matter until the monsters are jumping all around you and the hard strike is to slow to hit, that made perfect sense to me so I didn't question it. I worked my way up to level ten pretty quick and was taking on monsters way higher then my level because the monsters actually have to attack you now, my favorite feature. Now here is something that I wouldn't have thought would make me happy but did, the traps no longer look like part of the background meaning you actually can see that there is something to avoid!
I quickly reached level 10 before getting slapped down by a lizard. Then I saw it... the ominous exclamation point hovering above the npcs head. I quickly recalled the horror quests from maple story mesos declaring me to kill hundreds of monsters bellow my level for nearly no exp, or forcing me to randomly jump for hours on end while a high level wiz or hermit whimsically skips all the platforms with skill spamming. And lets not even speak of the horrors of finding the item quests where you have a .01 % chance of receiving the most basic loot. Much to my dismay it instantly appeared chilling me to the bone... 10 or 20 find the item quests and kill the monster quests. I ran out accepting them all with no serious intent on actually doing them but found that the were rather easy to complete. I had no trouble getting the items and I leveled up on the monsters I had to kill. the quests gave me nearly no exp but offered tons of money. I was very pleased I bought myself all new gear and did the quest a second time.
The more and more I played the less I saw maple story mesos and the less I cared when I did see it. In fact if anything this game is more like wow then maple story mesos but it doesn't feel old and played out it feels fresh and new.
The graphics are delightfully shiny and cute, the monsters are colorful without being stupid and the background is very pretty without overwhelming the for ground.
The gameplay is neither to slow nor to fast and constantly challenges you while providing you with the skills and items you need to pass the roadblocks.
The quests seem like second nature and the rewards will make you smile.
This game is fun and I recommend playing it.
